Partnering with Parents and Promoting Parental Involvement (4 clock hours)

Description of Program:
Strengthening partnerships between caretakers and early care and education providers is critical to securing successful outcomes for children. Primary responsibility for the development and well-being of children lies within the family, and all segments of society must support families as they rear their children. This 4-hour session will help early childhood providers develop an action plan for promoting parental involvement. At the end of this session participants will be able to:
  • Partner with children’s caretakers and work together for optimal development of the child;
  • Explore three types of parental involvement that are critical in a young person’s education;
  • Identify and address parental involvement barriers in their educational programs; and
  • Develop an action plan for promoting optimal parental involvement
