Linking Families with Resources (3 clock hours) Description:
Due to limited services, childcare providers are not always able to provide many support services to the families they serve. This 3-hour training provides an opportunity for early childcare providers to learn about community resources that are available to support families. Participants will meet various agencies and service providers from the metropolitan area that will discuss programs and services that support parents and child development. Emphasis will be placed on the Parents Anonymous® mutual support group model.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify community resources available for families
- Link families to programs that support the development of their children
- Develop a resource library within their childcare center to support families
