Helping People Set and Reach Their Own Goals for Self-Reliance and Interdependence 
Features of FDC Program
• 90 hours of interagency training, using Empowerment Skills for Family Workers, a family support and empowerment-based curriculum
• Classes offered by community-based trainers
• Supportive, interactive learning environment
• One-to-one mentoring by a field advisor
• Workers develop a portfolio documenting their knowledge and skills
• Upon completion of a portfolio workers earn a Family Development Credential from the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC).
